Our Story
Bavarian Meats is a third-generation family business. Our story begins in 1933, when our Grandpa Max, at the age of 19, loaded up his suitcase with recipes, left his home in Germany, and followed his dreams to America. He settled in Seattle and worked as a sausage maker for many years, honing his craft. Bavarian Meats was founded in 1961, just in time for Max to make a name for himself at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair. Max’s authentic German wieners were a massive hit and earned his Bavarian Meats a place in the hearts and stomachs of Seattleites for years to come.
A lot has changed in the nearly 9 decades since Max arrived in Seattle with a small suitcase full of recipes and a heart full of big dreams, but our commitment to deliver uncompromised flavor and taste has not. This is why you can be confident whether it’s a backpack full of Landjaeger for a summer hike or a batch of fresh sausages for a family cookout, when it’s Bavarian, it’s the best.
